“ Visited this food truck in Pasadena(on El Molina by Pasadena Playhouse). The food was great! I was really hungry. Had the short rib taco and chicken burrito. Both were really good- I really like the slaw that they put in the taco and burrito, delicious! The food was ready in about 10 min. There are a few benches nearby that you can eat the food and parking is not great(lots of paid parking available nearby but not free)- I ended up parking in parking lot behind the vromans bookstore(enter on oak knoll) because it's free there. ”
“ This is the best! I've been seeking these trucks out since Roy started Kogi. I had the tacos again but my girls got the chicken quesadilla which somehow proved to be among the best I've had. It seems like everything I get here is super. Love this place and worth finding a truck if you haven't yet tried it! ”
“ When I was in college, my friends and I had a phase where we would always be following our favorite food trucks and getting in the longest lines for them. Kogi was one of my favorite food trucks back then, but without the crazy lines from eons ago. Recently my boyfriend and I were trying to figure out what to eat for dinner and luckily the Kogi truck happened to be nearby. And there was only 2 groups in front of us. This was probably the easiest Kogi visit either. I'm not sure if it was only the day we came and they had technical difficulties or if the Kogi truck changed, but there was a handwritten sign up saying CASH ONLY on the day of our visit. My boyfriend ordered their Short Rib Burrito ($10) and I ordered their Short Rib Taco ($3.25) and their Blackjack Quesadilla ($9). The wait wasn't too bad. The burrito and taco were well packaged but the quesadilla was in a paper container and it was so oily that it seeped through and spilled into the bag. Good thing the plastic bag didn't rip or it would have spilled into the car. The taco was just as I remembered it with a good filling and a generous amount of protein. The blackjack quesadilla was oily and completely covered in salsa making it really soggy. I actually got this item so that it would be good to save for a subsequent meal since I knew I wouldn't finish it. Still a good overall meal but just too oily. I'm glad the Kogi trucks are still in business and going strong after all these years. Looking forward to continue my ongoing support whenever they are nearby. ”
“ The Kogi BBQ trucks need no introduction. Neither does its founder. It is the brainchild of pioneer and restauranter extraordinaire Roy Choi, who first introduced us to his fabulous Korean tacos on a truck. Since 2008, Roy Choi's many trucks have been the leaders and heralded a food truck revolution all over LA. Therefore, I was delighted to learn that on a recent Tuesday, that the Kogi Roja truck was going to be in Northridge at 9:30 pm. I was the first in line and ordered 3 types of tacos. They were chicken, short rib, and spicy pork. All of them were amazing. The tortilla, the meat, the cabbage, the sauce all blended well to produce a harmonious, delicious, mouthwatering and satisfying experience. ”
“ Huzzah! Either enough people complained or someone read my review because they are no longer a vat of oil. ”
“ I've been wanting to try one of Roy Choi's creations for a while now, and the short rib taco did not disappoint. Even though I packed my lunch, once I saw the truck near UCLA, I had to grab a taco!!! My friend got the burrito. The short rib was delicious, topped with a yummy slaw with great flavors. $3 for the taco. They have good combo deals, and it's cheaper to just order at the truck than on Postmates. Definitely want to go to the brick and mortar restaurant another time!! ”
“ Was so excited to try this spot and it did not disappoint! Thank you Roy Choi! If you check their website, you can see where they are located everyday. Our Airbnb is in Pasadena and the truck was located just a few blocks away. We got combo #1 which was three tacos and a drink for $9. If you get the short rib tacos, you pay a dollar more, so $10. We also got the Pac-Man quesadilla which had everything- all three meats and all three sauces. Honestly everything was BOMB. If I lived in LA I know I'd come back often. ”
“ If probably heard of the Kogi truck by now. If you haven't then you need to go and try them out. Went to the roja truck in Pasadena and there was a short line but went by quick. The short rib taco is pretty good, tender and sweet pieces and the sauce they put on it is noms. The short rib burrito is a must get. They now sell 4 of the Kogi sauce/marinades at Smart and Final. ”
“ Okaayyy, not bad!! Came to this location on a Saturday around 1pm, and the line was quite short, only 2 parties in front of me. Once I ordered, the food came out super fast. My friends and I got to try the Kogi dog, short rib taco, spicy pork taco, and the blackjack quesadilla. My favorite was forsure the blackjack quesadilla! The tortilla was perfectly crispy, the spicy pork was tender and juicy, and the cheese was melty and soft...the makings of a great quesadilla. The Kogi dog was alright! Don't think I will be getting it again, but I am glad I tried it. The spicy pork taco just tasted spicy, I wish there was some sweetness to offset the flames. I saved the short rib taco for last because that is like their crowning achievement. It was quite tasty! The short ribs taste like the Korean dish Galbi Jjim...I wanted to just eat the short ribs straight up without anything else. I think next time I would ask for the lettuce salad they put on top of all the tacos to be on the side, because sometimes the flavors of the salad overpowered the rest of the tasty taco. IMO, the short rib taco with just the short rib and the corn tortilla and maybe some onions and cilantro would be awesome. All in all, I definitely recommend trying this place out at least once! It is a fun food journey. ”
